Let the summer begin!
This summer has begun with a running start for all of the interns. Between meeting our account managers, getting a tour of the new office, meeting the staff and much more, we have been very, busy our first two weeks on the job!

We have been to training with Greg on how to load our trailers, Seedware training with Martha Krohe, MyFarms training with Troy Horton and agronomy training with Dr. Matt Montgomery and Stephanie Porter, Burrus agronomists. We appreciate the welcome that the Burrus family has given us.
We have several tasks to keep up with this summer and we’re looking forward to what they have in store for us. Several of the interns have helped finish up with the rest of the test and show plot planting. We are helping with seed transfers and returns from customers as well as helping Stephanie evaluating the PS SDS soybean side by side comparisons and we are excited to see what those results will be. We will be making sales calls to perspective customers, which will be great experience. Also, we each have a special project that we are to complete and present at the end of the summer to our account managers.

All this put together will make for a summer full of education and opportunities for all of us! The interns this year are Grant Clark (Carthage, IL), Evan Wayet (Sherman, IL), Austin Kocher (Henry, IL), Lee Stiltz (Jacksonville, IL), Courtney Brown (Chillicothe, MO) and Allen Bennett (Chillicothe, MO). Grant, Evan, Lee and Austin all attend Western Illinois University. Courtney attends Northwest Missouri State and Allen attends North Central Missouri College. We hope we will be of good use to Burrus this summer and help build their business. - Austin Kocher (author of this blog)
