Burrus Plot Harvest after Early Season Floods

Burrus Dealer, Jason Zimmer farms near Reddick, IL and during the harvest of his corn plots, he reflected back on the 2015 season to Burrus Account Managers, Krista Lottinville and Dalton Shepherd.  "The spring was not kind to us this year, with record amounts of rain in June and July, total rainfall at 33.69 inches during the growing season. The temperatures were moderate throughout the growing season, with June and July having excessive cloudiness."

Rain Fall Total: 33.69 Inches from April to date

April 3.12

May 3.85

June 14.75

July 6.47

August 4.25

Sept 1.25

A portion of the Burrus show plot did suffer from water damage in a wet hole and definitely affected yields.   Further west, in the same field, Jason had a competitive, Kankakee Corn Growers plot that featured 18 competitive hybrids with 4 checks. Power Plus® 5C17 placed first with (246.8 bu/A) and Power Plus® 4J95 took second at (239.3 bu/A).  Congratulations on your win!
